Extreme couponing

Do you coupon? Today was my first ever experience using a coupon, and they practically fell into my lap. True story. Apparently I am a VIP at Target because they sent me this trusty book of coupons in the mail.

I was super excited as I really have no understanding of extreme couponing. I mean where do you get your coupons? Do they work at all stores? How do you "double up" on coupons? Am I even using correct coupon lingo?

Really and truly I would love to learn more. Anyone care to share their tips and tricks? I'm promise I'm a good student!

Shameless reminder to please vote for me! I'm slipping a smidgen in the polls

  1. Girl...I am not an extreme couponer by any means...but I use them frequently. We live adjacent to a Harris Teeter and every day is double coupons up to 99 cents and every few weeks, triple coupons. But the best is when they do super double, up to $2, so you can save up to $4. I get free stuff all the time that way with my groceries. I get coupons from our Sunday paper. But I don't buy stuff we don't use just cause it's free. I don't understand that. Haha

  2. I live in Florida and they don't double coupons here but I DO get LOTS of good deals. The trick is to buy two newspapers each week (on Sundays for the coupons). I always take out the coupons and put them together with the date (coupon sites will tell you what date the coupons were in the paper). I use a couple sites that are florida focused, ie grocery stores that are in Florida, like publix. If you Google you can find sites that are in your area. And those sites will tell you what to buy and what coupons to use. You will learn the rules the more you read the sites, like what store except only manufacturer coupons and what stores will accept competitor coupons, etc. Let me know if you have any questions and I'd love to help you!

  4. I tried my hand at couponing, but I wasn't very good at it. My sister-in-law is a beast at finding good coupon deals though. I got that coupon book from Target a couple weeks ago and saved a good $20+ though...some of the coupons were also for things that if you got a certain number, you also got a $5 gift card. Awesome, right?

  6. I'm not extreme either but the one thing I do know and can do well is coupon stacking. I love getting the Target booklets in the mail, you can also find coupons from them on the website too. If you have a store coupon (one with the logo and can only be used in that store) you can stack it with a manufacturer coupon. It's great :)
